Poor Microphone performance
Trouble Shooting.
There are a few different things to check
Most stereos are sent with an internal microphone as well as an external one.
The external one will work and over-ride the internal once it is connected.
If the External one does not take over then either:
a) the microphone is faulty and the circuit needed to disable the internal is
not completing the circuit.
or
b) the cable is faulty.
If the volume of the microphone is not loud enough then
a) ensure that the microphone is placed on the roof in the centre of the car -
not near the pillar. You will need to extend the cable to bring it there.
b) there are Microphone apps available to try at

If you are getting lots of noise through both microphones and your vehicle is
diesel powered
The problem with diesel is that they can have dirty power and so there is about a 90% chance it is the car, 5% chance it is the cabling and only 5% it is the unit
Working out what is causing this is a process of elimination - no easy solution
First thing to do is to run a decent heavy wire from the body of the car (not painted) to the Earth on the unit.
Then run another heavy wire from the car battery direct to the unit - bypassing any interface / CANBUS
You could also put a suppressor on the power wire which also could help but doing the first two are the best options
The
other way of testing this is to cut the power wire (yellow) and the earth
(black) and connect to a different battery not connected to the unit. This
will isolate if the issue is coming from the car or not (invariably testing
always has shown the issue is the wiring in the car)
